Private Edgar Griggs approached the active element in the central chamber of Ark Chasm on 12 July 1959 and underwent instantaneous sublimation. No remains were recovered. He was declared missing in action.
Thirty-eight years later he walked out of a tree line in rural Idaho, still twenty years old, in 1959 field gear, with no memory past the Chasm.
It called me back.
Testing confirmed identity. He acknowledged no time gap and behaved, in the words of the interviewing officer, like a tape recording.
He disappeared in transit to Site AZAZEL. Transfer footage shows a third figure walking beside the escort. None of the escort saw it.
Note on the journals
Journals attributed to Griggs surfaced in the Vatican Black Archives under Apocryphal Class IV in 1982, recovered decades earlier by unknown parties.
That is fifteen years before he reappeared, and twenty-three years after he ceased to exist. The discrepancy has been noted in the file three times and closed three times.
