Unit-03, callsign Virtues, is the Department's direct action formation and the finest body of gunfighters it fields.
No anomalous integration. No augmentation. Selection and training only.
Where Unit-04 Thrones exists for breach containment and the handling of dangerous objects, Virtues exists for manoeuvre and marksmanship against human opposition, principally GRU Division P and its proxies.
On the callsign
Virtus is the Latin for martial valour, which suits a rifle formation better than any other rank in the hierarchy. The unit sits in the second sphere between Dominions and Powers, preserving the ordering.
Selection
Virtues recruits laterally from across the Department and from outside it, at Class-C and above, on demonstrated performance rather than on grade. It maintains its own standards, its own roster and its own selection cycle, independent of directorate posting.
